Corbin Industries awarded CE quality mark for solar manufacturing process
Corbin Industries has been awarded certification against BS EN 1090-1 and can now apply the prestigious CE mark for its innovative solar ground mounting solutions, DNO buildings and structural steel fabrications. The CE Mark is a mandatory requisite from the beginning of July 2014 in European countries for structural steel products and indicates that they comply with the regulatory requirements for quality, safety, health, environmental and consumer protection. The certification covers initial type testing including design control and review, structural calculations, drawing specifications and implementation of a factory production control system. Corbin’s Quality Assurance Manager Alex Hughes said “Certification against BS EN 1090-1 combined with our existing ISO 9001 quality management system clearly demonstrates our commitment to both designing and delivering durable, quality products and to drive down costs through automated, just in time manufacturing that will help solar developers work toward achieving grid parity”. Corbin are investing to reduce cost through continuous improvement to ensure quality throughout the business which will enable them to be a key part of an industry that positions the UK as the global leader in the rapidly expanding solar sector.
